Your paragliding adventure begins with a scenic gondola ride to the launch site. With a few running steps, you’ll lift off and be soaring high above the landscape.
Book your flight directly through our website. You’ll see live availability, so you can secure your desired time slot.
30 minutes prior to your flight, please check our current flying status before coming up the gondola.
Look out for the Gforce Paragliding desk at the top of the Skyline Gondola. Our office team will greet you and explain the next steps.
You’ll be introduced to your pilot, who will walk with you up to the take-off location. They’ll talk you through the experience to make sure you feel completely at ease.
At take-off, your pilot will begin the setup process, including all safety checks. Once everything is complete, you’ll be ready to fly!
You’ll land at one of our central Queenstown landing locations. From there, it’s just a short walk back to the Skyline Gondola or central Queenstown. You’ll also have the chance to purchase photos and video of your flight.
If the weather isn’t suitable, our office team will contact you to reschedule your flight (subject to availability) or provide a full refund. Communication is key - if you have any questions, just get in touch with our helpful team.

There is a short walk uphill to the take-off site. A brief power walk and a few running steps are required for the take-off. You are an active participant in the take-off process, and will be given a full briefing on what to expect and what’s required - don’t worry, it’s very simple. Note that you will be required to disclose any medical conditions, however this doesn’t necessarily stop you from flying. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Minimum 20kg, maximum 100kg. Weight restrictions can be dependent on client fitness and weather conditions. We do not have any age restrictions.
Dress for the conditions and bring a warm jacket. Sturdy shoes are required.
Check-in with us when you arrive at the top of the gondola. This should be done at your scheduled time slot.
Your gondola pass is not included. Passes can be purchased directly at the Skyline terminal building on the day of your flight. Please check the flight status before purchasing your Skyline Gondola ticket. If you wish to return on the gondola after your flight, an additional pass will be issued, provided you have already purchased a gondola ticket.
Check our website 30 minutes before your scheduled time and look for the ‘Open’ status. This should be done BEFORE you come up the gondola. If you have any questions, just give us a call.
Your flight will take place from one of three take-off locations at the Skyline Gondola and land you back in the heart of Queenstown. You can then return to the top of the gondola if you wish, as long as you’ve already purchased a gondola ticket that day. We’ll provide a stamp with your ticket to show Skyline staff.

We recommend wearing comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Closed-toe shoes are essential for safety and sunglasses and sunscreen are also a good idea. You can bring small personal items such as phones or handbags on your flight. Your pilot will secure these in their harness and return them to you after landing.
Yes, flights are subject to weather conditions. Safety is our top priority, so we will cancel if necessary. If the weather isn’t suitable, our office team will contact you to reschedule your flight (subject to availability) or provide a full refund.
Flight durations vary, typically ranging from 7-10 minutes. Your pilot will ensure you enjoy the experience and consult with you about whether you’d like some extra turns and thrills. You’ll have plenty of time to take in the breathtaking views!
Due to strict safety regulations, passengers are not able to use their own camera equipment during the flight. Our pilots carry a specialised camera setup to capture your experience. After your flight, you’ll have the option to purchase the photo and video package directly from your pilot for $80 NZD.
Our landing sites are both located in central Queenstown, just a short walk from the Skyline Gondola. The exact landing spot may vary depending on the day, so please check with our office team when you arrive.

No, you don’t need to buy an extra ticket. We will give you a stamp so you can come back up the gondola after your flight. Just show Skyline staff your original gondola ticket along with the stamp our office team will provide at check-in.
In the summer months, we may also use Coronet Peak as an alternative flying location if weather conditions prevent us from operating at the Skyline Gondola. On these days, our office team will contact you with all the details. If you would prefer not to fly at Coronet Peak, you are welcome to receive a full refund instead.
